There are many shortages in selection of urban distribution network connection modes at present. The choice always depends on the knowledge and experience of experts who participate in the work. To take into account the influence of uncertainties in power network expansion planning, the blind number theory is deduced. In this system, the technical and economic analysis for the connection modes is carried out and the relationship of line load ratio, line reliability and potential benefit is also discussed. Taking the feeding modes selection of a certain typical development zone for case study, different feeding modes under different connection modes are evaluated, and a scheme to evaluate distribution network planning is obtained. Meanwhile the validity and practicability of the proposed method is verified. Finally, some suggestions on the application of all sorts of connection modes are given.
