| The study on cooperative technology for mechanical design is an application example in the area which computer network technology is applied in engineering. Introduced cooperative technology to design process, the design period may be shorter and market competence of the product can be enhanced greatly. From current research of cooperative design, according to characteristic of mechanical design and several main key technologies of cooperative design, this paper studies how to use cooperative technology in mechanical design. It includes the programming of design task and the implement of sharing design information. In this paper, design task is described in graphic theory according to design information components relationship. Using design structure matrix, the design process is reformed in terms of the thinking of concurrent engineering, analyzing and counterchanging on DSM, then we can ascertain the carrying sequence of son-task. On the foundation of analyzing the couple task set, we can obtain the key task of our design. In addition, design task is assigned according to assignment problem in Operation Research. At last cooperative design team is created.This paper analyzes the application of network technology in cooperative design, tells how to build network interface through ASP, it accomplishes the sharing of design information under common network interface, HTTP protocol and WWW service, foundation of Client/Server model in certain network topology structure. At last through an example about two-stage reduction gearbox, it explains the application of DSM and the implementing process of sharing design information. The key point of this paper is carrying out the programming of design task and realizing the sharing of design information through design structure matrix that is the core technology in cooperative design on the basis of Internet standard service, it provides a certain foundation for the lucubrating of mechanical cooperative design.
