The model includes various information of architectural materialand technology, which as elements of composition. It’s a comprehensive database including all of thebuilding information, which can be used in architectural design, structure design, equipmentmanagement, calculation, evaluation, maintains and so on.With the supporting of BIM technology theory, this essay will discuss the methodology that howcomputer assists architectural design. And through design processes a template, I will be willing toinvestigate the feasibility of implementation of BIM technology in architectural design. Thestrategies of analysis and synthesis research will be applied to research process of this subject. Firstlyaiming the research at the range of the BIM construction, and as the BIM technology developmentprocess to be the main line, I will deeply discuss relevance of theoretical and practical application ofthe BIM construction process.In Practical level, according to the current situation and development trend that computer assistsarchitectural design and construction of energy-saving design, by the argument of QingdaoUniversity library project as an example to be demonstrated on BIM applications and the applicationof computer-aided architectural design methods and practical approaches, the construction methodwhich bases on BIM technology and computer-aided architectural design will be furtherresearched.In the essay, also focusing on the base of the establishment of the Library BIM model, I will startto explore the specific application of the BIM technology, and thus to analyze fully the whole projectin the conceptual stage through combination with applications of design of corporation includingvarious subjects and phases in order to demonstrates the possibilities and powerful advantages in theapplicant process that BIM assists architectural design. In the practical application of the process,BIM technology can not only improve the efficiency of the architect, but also play an assisting rolein the whole design process.
