Gliding Extended Range Projectile (GERP) belongs to Easy-guided artillery shells. Compared with the missile,its flight control system is relatively simple. However, due to atmospheric conditions and uncertainties in the process of projectile production of the impact of human error, Gliding Extended Range Projectile flight control system must be both to ensure the efficiency of its glider, but also uncertainty and the unknown disturbance outside a strong robust.In view of the above factors, the design of robust flight control system was researched in this paper and the design of longitudinal flight control system was mainly studied.The research status of GERP, the design method of control system and the robust control theory were all introduced briefly. The mathematical model of GERP was established in flight dynamic. Based on longitudinal motion equations, the flight stability of GERP was analyzed using Lyapunov's stability theory;And introduce H_∞control theory and robust stability were introduced emphatically.Based on H_∞control theory, the design of longitudinal controller was studied in this paper. Three characteristic points were selected. Using H_∞/mixed-sensitivity method, the sensitivity function and penalty sensitivity function of the system would be changed by the law if the weighting function was selected reasonably. And it can meet the requirement of various performance indexes of the system. The simulation results show that the stability augment controller has good stability under three kinds of designing conditions and it can track the external input command rapidly and soundly. It is also able to inhibit the external disturbance quite well. Some results concluded show that the longitudinal flight controller designed by using the H_∞control theory has good robustness and it can satisfy the robustness requirement of the flight control system.
