Traveling charge technique is a new launching technique, which is consistent with the existing gun structure. Ignition burning of solid traveling charge has unique features throughout interior ballistic course of gun, it is necessary to study theory of interior ballistic course of traveling charge. This thesis presents theoretical and experimental studies on solid traveling charge techniques. The key points are as following:(1) Interior ballistic tests are conducted using the traveling test projectiles designed by oneself in the 30mm ballistic gun, where a reliable method of ignition delay is used, this method ensures that traveling charge is ignited at the appropriate ignition delay time ,which realizes the traveling principle, that is the bore pressure curves possessing double peak.(2) According to the adoptive traveling charge scheme, a zero-dimensional interior ballistic model of solid traveling charge is developed and simulated in the theoretical studies of traveling charge. The numerical results are in good accordance with the experimental ones. On this condition, interior ballistic properties companions are conducted with traveling charge and regular charge. Based on the good results in tests and numerical simulations in the 30mm gun of the traveling charge, the simulation is carried on the interior ballistic properties of 105mm gun using solid traveling charge scheme, where the firing date and charging conditions is given.(3) A one-dimensional interior ballistic aerodynamic model of solid traveling charge is established and numerically simulated, obtaining the pressure distribution after body atdifferent time in the 30mm gun.(4)A one dimension—two phase flow model of interior ballistic is established. And the difference equations and the treatment of the Burnings—zone borderline is discussed.
