With the advancement of technologies, intelligent buildings, of which building automation system is a key part, have gained their popularity. Adopting close-end communication protocols, traditional building automation systems suffer from the failures to communicate with other systems, to extend themselves and to exercise interactive operations. LonWorks fieldbus provides a solid solution to the above problems with its characteristics as an open and interoperable system. After research and analysis on LonWorks technology which is based on Neuron chips and the LonTalk protocol, this thesis puts forward a project to construct a building automation system based on LonWorks, accomplishes the software and hardware design, achieves real-time monitoring of field data in the superior computer, and constructs a building automation system control network.The key to implement the LonWorks technology is the development of the intelligent node. First of all, the temperature control node is based on the design of Neuron chip, with its control module consisting of Neuron chip MC143150 and electric power transceiver PLT-22. It can complete data collection and control at the same time by adding a D/A module in the periphery circuitry. The temperature control node adopts the popular electric power medium, which does not require to lay line again in the process of data traffic, therefore to reduce the cost of installation and maintenance. Secondly, The MIO intelligent node belongs to host-based node, including TP/FT-10F flash control module and AT89C2051 singlechip. As a bus protocol processor, The TP/FT-10F flash control module is connected between LonWorks backbone and singlechip, AT89C2051 responsibles for the data collection and disposal from the field devices and the NeuronWire object communication mode is adopted. The software of the two nodes is written according to the LonMark standard for the interoperability of the product. At last, the MIO node is used in air-condition control system. Its function module property is configured by LNS Plug-in and this can complete the network variable transfers in function modules. We adopted InTouch configuration software in the superior computer to complete monitoring, real time alarming and data checking by establishing DDE. Then, an integrated control system is built.The system above has been debugged and measured, which indicates its performance very good and validates the application value of the research and development. The system has some popularizing significance.
