In mountains area of southwest of China, it is common to improve traction force by the way of uniting two locomotives each other. That is, two individual locomotives were linked together by cables electrically to achieve their control strategies. This method is commonly applied between the locomotives type of SS3B, SS4 and so on. And by this united way, the traction force could be boosted greatly, as a result of this fact, the special needs of heavy load transportation could be satisfied.The research subject is original from the project of Railway Bureau of Chengdu, named 'Wireless and Synchronous Control System of Locomotives United System '. The present technology of locomotives of type SS3B is mainly united by the cables connection. In order to change this status, a wireless and synchronous control system was developed. When the united locomotives control system is in operation, the synchronous control between master locomotive and slave locomotive is achieved via the wireless communication system. When the trains need to disorganize or reorganize, the locomotives installed this wireless and synchronous control system could be easily and quickly performed. As a result of this, the control and organization of locomotives will be more flexible.In the paper, the general design scheme of wireless and synchronous control system of locomotives united system was described, the function and the composed modules as well as the principle of the system were introduced. The related control signals and status signals of locomotive were analyzed and the corresponding signal sample solution was designed in the signal sample part. The hardware of signal sample system and the flowchart of its software were both designed. The system CAN bus was analyzed and corresponding interface circuit was also given. The solutions for better performance of anti-jamming were provided too.
