As a new industry technology, virtual prototyping (VP) has been used in many fields and shown obvious advantages over the conventional design techniques. The dynamics of planetary gear trains (PGT) based on VP has been the key of the dynamic design and digital design for PGT, which has realistic meaning to the development of mechanical industry. In this dissertation, the transverse-torsional coupling vibration of 2K-H spur PGT is investigated by means of Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical System (ADAMS). The major achievements are listed as followings:1. A modified transverse-torsional dynamic model for NGW type of spur PGT is established by correcting the relative displacement expressions between the carrier and the planet gear, and the calculation results of the two models are compared. Similarly, transverse-torsional dynamic model is established for NW type of spur PGT for the first time. The natural frequencies and vibration modes of the system are investigated thoroughly and the influence of the bearing stiffness is analyzed.2. An equivalent analytical model of the conventional gear system is established to solve some problems in gear vibration modeling by ADAMS. An equivalent transverse-torsional dynamic model for spur PGT is established. The analysis of dynamic characteristic is carried out by ADAMS/Linear and ADAMS/Vibration and the results are compared by theoretical model.3. The conventional gear train is modeled in ADAMS based on the Hertz formula and the influence of bearing stiffness on meshing force is investigated. A 3D model for NGW/NW type of spur PGT is designed in Unigraphics(UG) to carry out the kinetic simulation. A VP model for NGW type of spur PGT is established by the communication of software and the influence of the bearing stiffness is researched.
