For the convenience of debugging and operation assessing of Motorcycle Engines with EMS, Vehicle Data Recorder (VDR) and data analysis software running on PC are developed based on CAN bus and high capacity FLASH memory.Vehicle Data Recorder, derived from highly cost effective Microprocessor, combines the essential advantages of hardware and software, and it is able to realize accurate real-time collection of data. Test results show that data loss ratio remains under one millionth. The VDR integrates CAN bus controller, with Infineon XC164CS single chip computer as its master control chip, and therefore it is easy to extend CAN interface. It communicates with the motorcycle ECU through CAN bus, timely obtaining parameters of various operation conditions and saving them to the high capacity memory. The device is small in size and simple in manipulation. What's more, it is supported by vehicle storage battery and thus consumes less power. In all, the VDR is a device which fits for real-time data collection at all operating conditions. The data analysis software running on PC is developed in VB. With the software, analysis can be made in aspects such as testing the VDR data recording quality and road driving condition of motorcycles. Specific focus is given to the quantitative evaluation of the closed-loop control of air/fuel ratio and the aging of the oxygen sensor, providing basic information for the optimization of the engine control strategies as well as for the diagnosis of the oxygen sensor.VDR has been implemented in practical electrical vehicles for approximately one month, the amount of data recorded reaching 1G and it is proved that it has played very important roles in the improvement and evaluation of the ECU control strategies. |
