This article is focused on the whole three-dimensional turbulent flow field numerical simulation research of mixed-flow fan and the structure optimization. The research was done with CFD assisting design. The work dealt with structure design calculation, parameter optimization and flow field simulation. Considering the special configuration of the mixed-flow fan, numerical simulation method was studied, computational fluid dynamics scheme was built, geometric model coordinate with the actual flow field structure and the appropriate meshing strategy was set up. The standard k-εturbulence model was used to simulate the fan flow field with stable computation and good astringency. This article designed orthogonal experiment in view of essential parameter variables which influence the fan performance, the most superior level was determined and the initial design model was established. Through the numerical simulation study of the flow field, the simulation experiments predicted the fan performance and examined the feasibility. Finally, wind pressure and the flux can satisfy the practical application requirements in general. The outlet static pressure can reach 1400Pa, dynamic pressure is small , the efficiency can reach 37% and there will be further improvement space.Hydrokinetics behavior of the fan interior flow field was also studied. As a result, the important feature of the flow inside the fan has been predicted clearly. Many complex phenomena have been captured such as pressure distributions and velocity fields, and the interaction between diffuser and impeller, which leads to the asymmetry of the flow field, has also been proved numerically. The simulation results were consistent with the flow mechanism of impeller machine interior flow field. It can be concluded that CFD can predict the whole flow field structures very well and the results are able to provide important guidance for design optimization.
