Ancient Chinese architecture simultaneously starts and develops as Chinese culture with a long history and stable system. It clearly reflects the venation of Chinese traditional culture. Through researching ancient Chinese architecture and its traditional culture, we can learn and develop the great cultural tradition and design concept of ancient Chinese architecture, and make them rejuvenate in modern world.From the respect of Chinese traditional civil architecture, this thesis epitomizes the main features of ancient Chinese architecture, and analyses the usage and manifestation of Chinese traditional culture and philosophies in ancient Chinese architecture. It shows the developed track of the traditional civil architecture which is affected by ancient Chinese architecture culture; and points out that the relationship between construction, layout, materials and environment is decided by the ancients' pursuance of the philosophy of "Sky and Human in One"(the harmonious relationship between nature and human). Based on this philosophy, through analyzing the relationship between human and environment, construction and environment, human and construction, combining with some examples, this thesis explains the feasibility and necessity of making ancient Chinese architecture culture rejuvenate in the modern world.Civil architecture, with a long history and broadly distributed, is the construction mostly manifests the national and racial architecture culture and style. Through analyzing and researching Chinese traditional civil architecture, this thesis summarizes its features and considers that the views of universe, environment, ecology and human, which follows the philosophy of "Sky and Human in One", lays solid foundation for ancient Chinese architecture culture. Ancients' pursuance of the philosophy of "Sky and Human in One" makes them well deals with the relationship between human, construction and environment. In the modern world, the development of human, architecture and environment has lost its balance; and the relationship of human and nature is continually exacerbating. It is very necessary to learn and inherit ancient architecture culture; attach a great importance to ecology and humanity of civil architecture design and construction; apply excellent designing thoughts to modern design of civil architecture; and combine traditional culture with modernized technology.Nowadays, people have more deeply researched Chinese traditional civil architecture from more different aspects. Through researching and analyzing the development of traditional civil architecture, this thesis, from the aspect of cultural research, summarizes the cultural intension of the construction and technical style of ancient Chinese architecture; and provides designing thoughts to learn and use. Combining with regional facts, it does a lot of feasible research and imagination, especially focuses on the relationship between human and environment, the ecology of architecture and the humanity of design. The project is not very rational and perfect, but it is a useful practice or an exploration.
