It is an under-study ing topic during recent decades that how Chinese traditional architecture culture inherits and how Chinese contemporary architecture develops. Rather than studying from traditional aspects such as style, element, symbol and prospect, this paper makes an attempt in the thesis that basing on the inseparable core of architecture, discussing the basic aspects of architecture in the realm of "relationship". Also, this paper illustrates this conception, in the way of "architecture grammar" created by Liang Sicheng, to compare traditional and modern architecture and do research on the inherited relationship of Chinese architecture culture.There are three aspects included in architecture grammar:technical construction, space construction and site construction. It is architecture vocabulary that corresponds to architecture grammar. Architecture grammar could be expressed as the rule, method and mutual relationship formed when architecture vocabulary composing which. The thesis not only compares the architecture grammar of traditional and contemporary architecture, but also explains the key effect of architecture grammar to inherited relationship while comparing.After making the comparison on the architecture grammar, this paper illustrates some non-kernel but unavoidable factors of architecture object and using subject, which could prevent the obstruction and expect to employ them positively.While analyzing the result of comparison, this paper obtains the final inherited relationship to reach the aim and significance of the thesis.
