This paper describes the limitation of the traditional heating mode which leads to the increasing decrease of energy resource storage and the deterioration of the environmental problems, and analyzes the existing problem in the application of air source heat pump, surface water source heat pump, groundwater heat pump, and solar energy heat pump in northern cold areas. A newly designed double coupling heat pump system, with air as low-level heat source, is proposed according to the heating characteristic of high rise building in the cold area, expanding the scope of application of air source heat pump.Taking a top grade lettering building as a example, the author analyzed the heating characteristic of the building, and designed four plans. The possible problems such as installation of the outdoor heat exchanger, was analyzed and the solving Scheme was provided. The study was focused on the fourth plan (air-to-water heat pump + water cooled VRF system). Mathematical simulation models were established and simulation was worked out. By establishing the mathematical simulation models and working out the simulation we obtained the range of discharge temperature, evaporating pressure, condensing pressure, compression ratio and coefficient of performance. The study also provided the ratio between the wasting work, the cooling capacity and the heating capacity. It shows that the use of the plan is feasible and has good ability of energy saving. The author attempted to save energy through recovering waste heat from exhaust air and the optimization of the highest temperature of tank water, yet the benefit is poor. The analyze showed that the energy saving proportions taken by recovering waste heat from exhaust air were low. This method is hardly helpful for the most unfavorable condition. The analyze also showed that the highest temperature of tank water ranging from 25℃to 40℃cannot save significant energy for the system during the whole heating period. Finally, the thesis analyzed the factors influencing energy-saving effect.
