As outstanding achievement on structures, the arch is applied in bridge engineering, hydraulic engineering and building engineering widely. Because of saving reducing materials, improving stiffness and across more room, so more arch structure are used in construction projects. In recent years, large-space structure provides a broad development stage for arch structure. The long-span steel arch structure more beautiful and practical, so the stadium of Xi'an university of architecture and technology is adopted the structure program which use steel arch as main load-bearing component, while rigid tied are distributed as lateral support system between the arches long the long span. The identification of production of the experiment with the long-span steel arch structure is carried, in order to check the structural reliability under the design load and quality of its construction. The main structure of model is established by ANSYS which is a numerical analysis program. This thesis carries out relevant research on mechanics properties stability behavior and seismic response systematically and deeply.(1 )The entire process of production experiment is described in detail. It includes the preparation of the program, the experiment described, some data and conclusions.(2) On the basis of the eigenvalue buckling analysis, the equilibrium paths for both the limit point buckling and bifurcation buckling are traced successfully by geometrically nonlinear analysis. Moreover , the effect of initial geometric imperfections on the stability of the single arch is investigated.(3) The experimental data and theoretical data of the overall model structure which are obtained in detailed analysis are compared and confirmed each other. Then eigenvalue buckling analysis and geometrically nonlinear analysis are carried out and the effect of initial geometric imperfection is studied. It has been shown that this structure is very sensitive to initial imperfection and the existence of the imperfection lead to a significant reduction in the stability load-carrying capacity. (4) The vibration characteristic of the structure is also analyzed. The dynamic behavior under the common earthquake is investigated by the time-history method respectively and the distribution of dynamic force is obtained.
