Building energy-saving has become a hot spot in modern society. Air-conditioning's energy consumption account for the largest part in a building, thus, we can drastically save the energy by improving the automation grade. Using effective air adjustment manner is of great significance to intelligent building's energy management control (EMC). Nowadays, variable air volume (VAV) air-conditioning system has become the mainstream of air-conditioning system abroad and home with its huge energy-saving potential.Because HVAC system is designed by its peak load, and air-conditioning system is run under partial load most of the time; so, if we can find out the best running time online according to the load and realize the best matching by control system, we can cut the air-conditioning system energy consumption enormously. Adopting the researching platform of the intelligent architecture environment laboratory in Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, the paper analyzes the control arithmetic, running characteristics and energy consumption. Energy consumption and Refrigerating Capacity measure hardware and software basing on the hardware and using LabVIEW programming language have been figured out. Meanwhile, work about analyzing optimizing and predicting for start running and stop of the VAV conditioning system have also been made. Finally, offer a new approach of optimizing the control arithmetic and improving energy saving efficiency for the VAV conditioning system which can unquestionably reduce the energy consumption of the conditioning system. This achievement is not only a guiding function in the household metering of air-conditioning system's heating and Refrigerating, but also significant in improving building's energy use efficiency and energy saving.
