The Summary Discussion About Constructing The Symbolic Specialty Of Industrial Design

In 1998,education ministry of china revised the specialty contents of undergraduate school in general colleges,as a result,the specialties has been compressed by nearly a half,but the specialty of industrial design has not been compressed,and remained as the second subject with art design specialty.After that, specialty of ID has been setting up in universities.As the prosperity of this specialty, some problems imposed.The main purpose of this article is to find out those problems brought about in the construction of ID specialty in universities.By analyzing the investigation of the specialty in some famous universities,we get an eight-element conclusion in constructing this subject;it can be divided into two levels:the first levels is the core of this specialty,or in other words,its basis.The first level,including four elements:leaders of the subject,research on theory and history, construction of characteristic and infrastructure,plays the crucial role in the process of specialty construction because it decides specialty's existence.The second level, including other four elements:quality of teaching crafts,personnel training,projects achievement,academic exchange,belongs to function of specialty construction. Potential of development and quality depend on this level.In fact,constriction of ID specialty needs those elements develop harmony,and reach practical and feasible method of innovative development and principles of ID specialty construction.In 1987,Art and design school in Wuhan University of technology set up ID specialty under the authorization of ministry of education.It was one of the earliest specialties set in both engineering course and liberal arts,and gets the right of master selects of industrial plastic arts in 1994(then adjusted as design art by ministry of education),after les- than-20-year development,ID specialty in Wuhan University of technology has won lots of glory,and became symbolic specialty in Hubei province which stands front row of other specialties.From those aspects,such as leaders of the subject,targets of specialty construction,construction of base,scheme of personnel training,the author of this article analyzed the condition of ID specialty in Wuhan University of technology,and from construction of first-rate teaching-craft,teaching achievement,conversion between teaching and teaching achievement,academic exchange,and construction of policies,he analyzed the practical process of this brand specialty.Constructing of ID specialty is a systematic project that needs experience under the guide of theory,and need a perfect system as support,at last,the author of this article analyzed the supporting system briefly,especially construction of ID specialty and fine works courses in Wuhan University of technology,and researched on its method of construction and strategies.
