Shell structure,as its beautiful appearance,reasonable mechanical performance, flexible and diversity of structure,convenient construction,mechanism and factory-like,has become the most develop and widely used spatial structure.Most of all these researches,the impact of shell structure from substructure were neglected. They were all put substructure isolated as simple support or clamped support,and calculated mechanical performance of shell structure independently.But in actual project,there is impact from inertia effect of substructure to initial force,side thrust and nodal deflection;especially while under seismic force,the vibration of substructure will bring in an inevitable seismic force to the members around supporting structure,this will have a impact to the carrying capability of shell structure itself.So,it has a vital meaning to have a full consideration about cooperative work between shell structure and substructure while designing.The damping system of structure is that some non-bearing components are designed into energy dissipation members or to install damper in some part of the structure.The damping system in this paper are adopted BRBs with well mechanical performance to replace some members in shell structure to achieve damping effect, and then to enhance the safety of the structure.In this paper,by considering the cooperative work with substructure,the performance of BRBs,the new damping system,in shell structure is discussed.The mainly work in this paper as follows:(1)The dynamic time-history is analyzed in different substructures.It also discussed the impact of different substructures to shell structure,and to provide the basis for BRBs arrangement.(2)To analyze elasto-plastic time-history of shell structure with BRBs.To research the performance changes of shell structure with various BRBs arrangements under different seismic forces,to find out the reasonable arrangement.(3)Based on the displacement of substructure,the BRBs are added to the substructure,and their damping performances are discussed.(4)By considering the actual situation in engineering,such parameters as different seismic waves,rise-span ratio and span are analyzed,and the effect to the damping system from each parameters are obtained,then theoretical analysis are given from the results.The references are provided to the implication of BRBs in projects of damping shell structure system.
