The philosophy of green design and manufacturing, which is based on the strategy of sustainable development, is leading the field of mechanical engineering to a wide-ranging technological change.In this field, centrifugal clutch is a kind of green start technology, by which electromotor,internal-combustion engine can be activated in the unloaded condition. And, centrifugal fixture is a green clamp technology with energy losses nearly approaching zero.Despite lots of advantages, centrifugal mechanisms haven't been paid enough attention in the research community, and are restricted in small-size motorcycles, medium and small sized lathes, etc. Hence, it is necessary to employ the application of centrifugal mechanisms. There're many common grounds in technology between centrifugal clutches and centrifugal fixtures, so, in this thesis, they're researched and analyzed together within the method of regularization and classification. Furthermore, the following innovation and design of new mechanisms for distinct occasions, and analysis on their mechanical properties is the emphases of all.The main contents of the thesis are as follows:First, the basic technology properties of centrifugal mechanisms are analyzed comprehensively, and its applications in centrifugal clutches and centrifugal fixtures are introduced, too.Second, a lot of ordinary centrifugal mechanisms are classified logically and a new technology system is built in their application of centrifugal clutch and centrifugal fixture.The third is the most important part, there, several types of centrifugal clutches with force-amplifying mechanisms are improved and innovated, and their mechanical models are built, formulae are followed.In the fourth part, centrifugal fixtures are researched systematically. On the basis of arrangement and summary, some new valuable centrifugal fixtures in the engineering application are designed to fill up the deficiencies in technology, and their properties are analyzed as well.At last, the perspective future of research on centrifugal mechanisms is prospected.
