| Pavilion building is not a primary architectural form in China because of its limitation. However, as an important role in the development of Chinese traditional architecture, pavilion building is a good combination which shows the particular charm of Chinese ancient architecture between technology and traditional culture. Storied Building has been the focus of the built environment, construction of pavilions represent the structure of society at that time the highest level of construction, building technology, was a direct response, people in the construction of pavilions, there will be construction of new technology breakthroughs and innovation. This is the pavilions on the scientific value of construction. For a long time, the construction of pavilions on the study has never been interruption, the theoretical achievements of an endless stream. But pavilions on the regional characteristics of the study is relatively scarce, often related research is the premise of the study and did not take into account the unique local environment with the local characteristics of the pavilions construction. Did not involve such a place is how the characteristics, development and prosperity.This dissertation focuses on the regional culture of Shanxi's buildings to analyze the design concept of Shanxi's pavilion building in early time. How were early designers inspired when they designed pavilion buildings? Thinking this question could help us to clarify their functions, space and structures. There are three elements will be concerned to summarize the characteristic of pavilion buildings: the relationship between individual buildings and Community, the development of pavilion buildings in structure and the influence from Chinese traditional aesthetics. Through studying these three points, the original history and culture in real environment at that time can be clearly understood by researchers. Consequently, through the analyses in form and structure, the dissertation will identify the feature of pavilion buildings in early time, which could improve the study of culture and technology in architectural history. Obviously, more analyses could accumulate various valuable experiences for the protection of historical pavilion buildings. Even some architecture that has been destroyed could be restored and redisplay to current people. Therefore, the whole information of pavilion buildings would be continued and received by future generations as a part of history. |
