With the development of highway career, the span and pier height of contious rigid frame bridge updated records , but the current Specifications of earthquake resistant design for highway engineering (JTJ004-89) applies only to long-span of not more than 150 m, pier height not exceeding 30m bridge, the paper researched just on this background. First outlined the characteristics of rigid frame bridge, seismic disaster analysis of bridge and present status of high pier and long-span continuous rigid frame bridge's earthquake-resistance study, then expounded basic theory of the bridge's earthquake-resistance, elaborated response spectrum analysis and dynamic time-history analysis methods in detail, the final setted east navigable span of Jintang Bridge as engineering background, carried out dynamic analysis after simplifing it, analyze traveling wave effects to the bridge structure, and researched on the parameters' effect to the high pier and long-span continuous rigid frame bridge seismic response when they changed , which included pier height, multiple-span, differential height of bridge piers. Draw the following conclusions mainly: 1. The direction which the traveling wave inputs in affects seismic response of the different piers , traveling wave effect is not safe to structure. 2. With the increase of pier height , the main key internal forces of structure are reduced, with the the increase of multiple-span, internal forces have the trend to reduce, but the law not obvious, especially in transverse earthquake motivation. 3. With the increase of differential height of bridge pier, internal forces of low pier increases, that of high pier decreases, internal forces of low pier is big than that of high pier, their longitudinal maximum displacement has no difference nearly, but transverse maximum displacement of high pier is large than that of low pier obviously.
