In our country, commercial vehicle drops behind passenger car evidently in safety technology and equipments. Insufficient attention is paid to commercial vehicle passive safety and no compelling rule is carried out for the moment. It becomes more and more serious problem that passive security of commercial vehicle because the demand of truck of high speed and burden.At present, most types of truck which are produced and sold is flat-face truck. Also most new trucks which are researched and developed in many famous companies are flat-face trucks. Compared to conventional cab, the structure of flat-face cab decides that the distance between the driver seat and the front face is so short. So when accident is occurred there is no buffering and energy absorbing section. The occupant has insufficient survival space and would be pressed and lead to death. With more and more accidents of this sort take place people attach more importance to security of flat-face cab. To protect occupant and reduce casualty research on security of flat-face cab is needed.The impact simulation based on FEM be merged as the time require and more perfect along with the computer technique development for to improve the vehicle crashworthiness. On the reference of the research about vehicle's crashing security at home and abroad, the thesis did computer simulation based on non-liner FEM for a flat-face cab which is designed by a domestic corporation. The main work is displaced as follows.The FEM mode of a whole flat-face light truck cab and other parts were established. Simulations of roof static press and front pendulum impact were performed refer to ECE R29 .The leaving occupant survival space in simulation results were discussed in accordance with the demand of the rule. At one time, particular analysis was accomplished for the variety characteristics of displacement of cab and the main parts. The end analysis result showed that the strength of this cab roof was good enough based on the roof static press, but the occupant survival space was not enough in the condition of by a front pendulum impact. So the crash safety of this cab should be improved.
