Continuous conveying equipment plays an important role in the national economy and the process of materials circulation. As a new kind of continuous conveying equipment, air cushion belt conveyor has become one of the most popular continuous conveying equipments because of its notable advantages other than the traditional belt conveyor. Because the formation of a uniform and stable state of air-cushion is a key factor in the design and operation of air-cushion belt conveyor, the research on the dynamic characteristics of the air-cushion in the air cushion belt conveyor is increasingly regarded in the conveyor research field.Firstly, the simplified model is established for analyzing the dynamic characteristic of the flow field of the air-cushion in the air cushion belt conveyor based on the computational hydro-dynamics and finite element method, and the finite element model of air-cushion flow field is established based on ANSYS/FLOTRAN software and the characteristics in the air-cushion flow field in this dissertation. Secondly, the dynamic characteristics of the air-cushion flow field of the air-cushion belt conveyor are analyzed under the different arrangement mode, number and diameters of spiracle, which include the effects on air-cushion flow field pressure, speed, turbulent kinetic energy and turbulent energy dissipation distribution. Finally, it is obtained that the effect rules of the middle and edge thickness of air-cushion on the pressure, speed, turbulent kinetic energy and turbulent energy dissipation distribution of the air-cushion flow field, by means of the analysis on the dynamic characteristics of air-cushion flow field with different air-cushion shapes.According to the research, the theoretic basis is provided for knowing motion rules of the air-cushion flow field of the air-cushion belt conveyor, and the theoretic foundation is also provided for optimum design and reliable running of air-cushion belt conveyor.
