Along with the rapid development of digital control technology, direct digital control technology has been popular studied on control of the digital\servo valve pressure control system. In this paper, based on the original digital valve, a new type of pneumatic digital pressure valve has been designed, in order to conquer many shortcomings of the present digital\serve valve. The new valve has a simple structure, powerful antipollution function and low cost, and it can be continuously controlled. This valve will be able to meet the demand of the study on the FLEXIBLE PNEUMATIC ACTUATOR FPA, and can be widely applied to industrial pneumatic control system.Based on the established mathematic model, simulation and analyses were done to testify the dynamic properties of the valve and the pressuring characteristics of the experimental system; the theoretical foundation has been laid for further improvement of the experimental system.A control program has been designed by Labview to control the experimental system according to the different control needs. The result of open/closed loop control experiment based on the experimental system indicates that the new valve has great pressure response characteristic.The result of using the SMC electric proportional valve and digital pressure valve to control the pressure system separately indicate that the digital pressure valve' s capability is even better.
