Geomagnetic storms in the network induced geomagnetically induced current (GIC) which largely threaten the power system. Along with the implementation of " the Eleventh Five-Year Plan" UHV construction scheme, China will form a large number of transmission lines which have the characteristics of the ultra-high voltage, large-capacity, long-distance. The thesis researches the UHV power grid transmission line parameters and the structure of the grid and the transformer the impact of current level of GIC , the work have important significance to the assessment of the ultra-high voltage power grid level and influence . The paper bases on the elements of GIC current circulation in the different grid , advances the assessment model in order to calculate the level of the GIC , factors which influence the GIC and the selection method of the grid parameter . We also advance the complex network equivalent method and the method of calculating equivalent model. Finally, I assess the result of the GIC in the 2010 planning ultra-high voltage power grid .
