Reliability is one of the most important indices which evaluate the quality of product. The reliability of product not only influences the function of product, but the safety of its use also. The failure rate of product is decreased, the maintaining expense is saved and the developing period is shortened for raising product's reliability. It is becoming more and more popular researching project for the scholars and engineers all over the world.With the development of research, people begin to realize that there exists not only randomness but also fuzziness in the practice. The fuzziness affects the final analyses result for a few samples especially. The fuzzy reliability study begins to enter people's scope. Many great achievements have been made during more than 20 years.In the paper, fuzzy reliability method based on reliability theory and fuzzy math is applied to optimization design of mechanical structure and part. The single objective fuzzy reliability optimization design of gear reducer and multi-objective fuzzy reliability optimization design of worm gear worm drive are completed. Main jobs are done, establishing the mathematic model of practical problem which includes reliability and fuzzy constraints, transforming these special constraints into ordinary ones and then solving ordinary optimization design by Matlab Optimization Toolbox.The result indicates that the fuzzy reliability optimization design is one feasible design method and can be used to solve some related practical problems.
