High and steep slope project is one of the most common problems in highway construction in western china, and effective treatment of these high and steep slopes is the key to ensure smooth construction and operation of highway. Practical application shows that pre-stressed anchor cable pile sheet wall is one of the effective measures to reinforce high and steep slope. As the slope in k0+320~k0+380 of Kunming-Luo Road is restricted by line alignment , importance of slope and landscape requirement, a new type of supporting structure combined pre-stressed anchor cable pile sheet wall with bolts between piles is adopted in design. In this paper, taking the k0+320~k0+380 slope as a study object, centrifugal model test, field monitoring and PLAXIS FEM numerical analysis are done to evaluate the rationality of this new type of supporting structure. Based on data derived from centrifugal model test, field monitoring and PLAXIS FEM numerical analysis, the stability of reinforce slope, the internal force and deformation feature of the new type supporting structure are discussed. The main works done in this paper are as follows:Firstly, the slope project is analyzed by centrifugal model test. Several groups of models are made to discuss the stability of slope and supporting structures in two cases, in one of which the slope is not supported by supporting structures and in the other of which the slope is supported by supporting structures.Secondly, the earth pressure acted on piles, stress of steel, tensile force of cable, the moment and displacement of pile are analyzed with the data obtained from long-term, comprehensive field monitoring. The results of monitoring during the last two years show that the slope has always been in stable status during the period from construction to operation. At last, the slope and supporting structures are analyzed with FEM numerical software PLAXIS. The stability of slope is studied by FEM strength reduction method. The stability of slope and the rationality of supporting structure are evaluated on the basis of comparing the analysis results of three methods mentioned above.
