Dry powder fire extinguishers, as common fire fighting equipments, have extensive market demand because of their mobility, high injection rate, not corroding containers, non-perishable and other good performance. However, domestic production of dry powder fire extinguishers is still in single-bottle filling pattern, so that many workers are needed. As low production efficiency, it is difficult to meet market demands.According to the dry powder fire extinguisher automated filling demands and a lot of market research, an automated powder filling production line was designed and manufactured. Ultimately, a "high precision, fast, automated powder filling line" prototype is developed. The function reached the design objectives. At present, the automatic filling line unit has realized a certain amount of production. Research achievements have obvious advantages and high practical value in domestic and foreign products.This paper studies and works as follow:1) With the investigation in this field at home and abroad, PLC is used as the control core of the auto-control production line;2) According to the dry powder automated filling demands, a complete set of dry powder fire extinguishers automatic filling line is designed include mechanical systems design, location and detection system design and control system design;3) As a starting point to ensure filling accuracy, the separate filling is given as a new method; to ensure sealed reliability, the universal joint is used to turn the nozzle; concerning the speed and movement of stability, a roller chain drive transmission is used to replace the belt transmission. Telescopic rods are installed in roller gaps; with proximity sensor, the closed-loop control of fire extinguishers transmission positioning is implemented;4) Control system is designed independently, including sensors selection and software design for controling the production. With the machinery, electric control system, automation is realized of dry powder fire extinguishers filling line;5) Experiments are completed on Dry-powder Filling Automated Product Line calibration accuracy and reliability tests. The factors which caused the filling error of the system are analyzed and summarized, and the direction of improvement is made.
