The fast development of national economy growth depends on the power system more and more heavily, which brings forward higher request to secure and reliable operation of power plant. The proper set for the value of relay protection in power plant relates to whether the relay protect device can startup properly, so the management for calculation of relay protection is the foremost tache in the course of security management. But the traditional manual calculation mode for relay set is time-consuming and toilful, and easily fluenced by missionary's subjective factor, so the utilization of computer technology to increase of efficiency and veracity for calculation of relay protection is necessary.The article introduces the MAS thought into the relay protection management system, utilizes the coordination function of MAS, by the proper design of data stream and control stream, integrates all function agent modules organically. Each agent has its own unattached function, also supports each other smoothly, and unites to construct a fast, sequential, efficient flatform for calculation of relay protection. By constructing the dynamic module for calculation of relay protection, it solves out the problem that solidified relay protect calculation formulas can't be adapted to the renewal of relay protection, and realizes the universality for different power plants and different protect devices.The calculation and management information system is developed by Visual C++6.0 combined with Database Access. It includes the subsystem of graph, the subsystem of storage,the subsystem of short circuit calculation, and the subsystem of relay set calculation & verifying. The application of Visual C++, which has great advantage on GIO and Man-Machine interaction, makes the system considerably maneuverable.The subsystem of graph can complete once-wiring diagram of power plant swift and rightly , which helps users hold the topological characteristic of the once-wiring diagram, perform trouble analysis, find out the serial number of device which should be in the consideration of relay protect calculation, and consequently carry out the task of calculation swiftly and rightly. By building database dynamically, the subsystem of storage can store data neatly. The subsystem takes the relation in file, graph and database into consideration, consequently makes the operation of database orderly, excludes the possibility of redundant data, and ensures the security of database.The subsystem of short circuit adopts DFS to search, utilizes planar-finding technology, so as to extract the topological information in database. After detailedly analyzing the I/O characteristic of the subsystem of short circuit, we constitute the commutative regulation between the subsystem module and other modules, and realize the short circuit calculation of max-run-mode and min-run-mode.Based on the harmonious idea of generalized MAS, in order to deal with the diversity of protection device, and the variety of users demand, the setting calculation method for both the static and the dynamic module is put forward.This method is supported with recursive arithmetic, and it makes it possible for the users to append, delete, modify relay protection calculation formulas, so it can meet the need of reforming for protect device.
