A lot of attentions have been paid to the rebuilding cases since 1970s. Chinese enterprises have developed dramatically in recent years. Due to the changing of production technics and updating of equipment, tonnage of crane has risen sharply. Therefore, it has become an urgent issue for Chinese enterprises to rebuild and expand factory buildings so as to meet the production demand.Based on "the 406 Pipe Processing Factory Rebuilding Project" of Tianjin Pipe (Group) Corporation (TPCO for short), this paper studies on a column-cut one-storey steel-structure factory, and summarizes steel structure reinforcement & rebuilding principles and common methods, common column reinforcement solutions, calculation hypothesis, and constitution & construction requirements.In-depth analysis and studies are carried out on a column-cut one-storey steel-structure factory. A calculation diagram is made by analyzing paths of force transfer in structural constitution and structural system of factory buildings. Besides, reinforcement & rebuilding solutions of structural system are put forward and post-rebuilding structural system and types of structural parts for main structure are proposed on the basis of analyzing force status, force characteristics and bearing capacity of structure.Considering the characteristics of column-cut and the results of finite element analysis, removing order, length of interval, raising solution and relevant measures are worked out on the basis of conducting dynamic simulation of removing column by means of finite element and making overall analysis on force of structure. The construction order of column cut under normal circumstances is also proposed by detecting the overall process and comparing it to the simulation result.An overall analysis (static and dynamic) is made on the structure before and after rebuilding by ANSYS; safety of the structure before and after rebuilding is also ensured in line with the current standards and requirements. Effects of the rebuilding are theoretically evaluated on the basis of analyzing dynamic performance of structure before and after rebuilding, and comparing rigidity of structure rebuilding after to that of before building.Practices indicate that the column-cut one-storey steel-structure factory has remarkable economic and social benefits and is of reference value to similar projects.
