The steel structure resident houses have a good application in Europe, America,Japan and so on,but in our country, they have coming into a new develop stage. In recent theoretical researches and practical constructions,it is feasible and has a great perspective to apply steel structure to residential buildings.Based on the PKPM procedure, the performance of the steel structure residence building under frequent earthquake action are analyzed;the performance of the common beam-column semi-rigid connection under monotonic loading or under cyclic loading are studied using the finite element software ANSYS.The detail is in the below:1.Structural design analysis of steel structure residence at the story of 3~7 is made under 2 kinds of suite pattern considering different earthquake design levels and particular research the performance of steel structure residence at the story of 6. Moment resisting frames and brace frame structure was adopted in the analysis, and square steel tube,H-shape-steel was applied in each structural system respectively.Contrasting about the safety performance, lateral stiffness, the steel consumption and the performance of the different members is made out between aforesaid structure systems.2.In this paper,3-D nonlinear analysis models have been devised according to the interactive mechanical characteristics of each component constituting the high-strength bolted endplate connection joints.3-D nonlinear analysis models for the beam-column flexible connection and beam-column rigid connection such as the connections with welded flanges and bolted webs had also been constructed for the sake of comparison. With such models,a total force-displacement process under monotonic loading for the three beam-column connection joints has been studied.3.A detailed analysis of M-ψcurves of the high-strength bolted endplate connection joints has also been done. The study includes initial rotational stiffness, ultimate moment capacity, the trend in the development of force on the bolts, displacement and failure modes on connection components under monotonic loading, and the earthquake energy dissipation and ductility response under cyclic loading. The factors affecting the joint's cyclic behavior are thus deduced by analyzing the data.Analyze the effect of the diameter of blots, the collocation of blots, the thickness and form of stiffer of endplate, stiffer of column, friction coefficient, columns axial compression ratio and so on on performance of the connection. Results of the experiment shows that end-plate connections have excellent hysteretic behaviors, and the determination factors, which have crucial influence on the behavior, are end-plate thickness, stiffer of endplate, stiffer of column and columns axial compression ratio.
