With large-scale construction of water conservancy and hydropower project,the water resources can be managed and made full use more effectively.The great flood control ,power generation,skipping and other benefits was achieved.But after the project was finished,some ecological problems were brought inevitably.With time going on,the ecological factors would be one of the most important goals in the reservoir control operation.At the same time due to the complexity of the fluid movement, the traditional physical model test has been difficult to meet the needs of research, numerical simulation become convenient and powerful tool in the fluid dynamics study.After the completion of the Three Gorges Reservoir,the water lever of the Three Gorges Reservoir would be 175m at non-flood season. The power plant took the peak modulation mode. As the water level increased and peak modulation operation.the natural river flow pattern was changed and the water ecological environment problem was caused. Ways from the power plant operation at non-flood became the starting point and focus. If it could be approved,a two-win countermeasure for both power net and the water quality of the reservoir might be found. This paper conducted a preliminary exploration on how to implement the project" biological regulation".In this paper, the internationally well-known software software MIKE11 developed by the Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI) was applied. The hydrodynamic model and water quality model were established to make the Three Gorges Reservoir (to Fengjie approximately 170 km) and five major tributaries numerical simulation. the adoption of the model parameters calculated and adjusted so that the model can accurately simulate the hydrological conditions. At the same time, hydrodynamic characteristics and spread of pollutants of the reserivor and the main tributaries were studied through the the simulation and analysis of the scheduling .The reservoir water conditioning scheduling dynamics of the impact and the improvement of water quality conditions were discussed. In this paper,the hydrodynamic and water quality model of the Three Gorges reservoir was made and was verified with the the existing measured data.In the model the river network,sections choices,roughness, the value of water quality parameters was analyzed. The hydrodynamic characteristics and water quality changes was analyzed and compared after the daily regulation of the reservoir. The water condition of the reservoir and tributaries was improved with the great daily regulation.All of these proved it was an effective way.
