Single-lobe Progressing Cavity Pump is a kind of closed internal meshing screw pump. Compared with other types of pump, it has many irreplaceable advantages, widely used in petroleum, chemicals and sewage treatment industry. With wider and wider application range, higher and higher requirements to operation, more and more users of multi-variety high performance single-lobe PCP in the society, it is essential to study the single-lobe Progressing Cavity Pump's basic theories. This article conducts the research to kinematics and rotor dynamic characteristics of single-lobe PCP with the modern design and analysis method. The conclusion of research has important significance to pump's design calculation, the structure optimization and the choice.Established a rotor and stator solid mode and carried on the virtual assembly in the Pro/Engineer software, according to single-lobe PCP stator and rotor profile forming principle. Inspected the static and dynamic state interference of assemblies under no-load situation, and confirmed the accuracy of established solid model and assembly relations.Analyzed motion characteristic of rotor and the velocity distribution rule of a point on the rotor; simulated the movement of rotor in stator with kinematics analysis module of Pro/Engineer; and obtained the change law of track, displacement, velocity, acceleration of point on the centre and section of the rotor surface.Established the mechanical model of rotor; analyzed basic mechanics characteristic of rotor; and determined stress state of single-lobe PCP. Rotor will receive the force of inertial and the torque of friction which reduces by its rotation, as well as the axial force the transverse force, the load torque which produces by the hydraulic pressure. All force and torque is determined by structure parameter and working parameter of pump.Analyzed pressure distribution characteristic of sealing cavity in single-lobe PCP; established finite element model about the rotor transient characteristic analysis. The model applied finite element theory to discrete bearing plane under the continuous variation pressure and took the periodic variation force as exciting force. Carrying on the transient state dynamics analysis with a dynamic program APDL loading pressure in ANSYS, obtained the response of dynamic displacement and dynamic stress of rotor.
