The Electrical-submersible-motor-driven progressing cavity pumping system—ESPCPS is a kind of non-pole oil-extraction equipment which is driven by the electromotor under the oil well, and is liked by many petroleum scientific and technical workers because of its high efficiency, the low energy consumption, the area small, the installment is convenient, and so on, and is gradually generalized and used in the domestic and foreign oil fields. It is a bran-new research that the digital design technology is applied to research and development the ESPCPS to construct the platform of the ESPCP system digital design. To establish the digital design platform is the foundation to realize digital design of the ESPCPS, which is important to improve the quality of design and the efficiency of development of ESPCPS.Based on the in-depth analysis of the basic composition, the principle of work and its development general situation of ESPCPS, through analyzing and researching the related theory and essential technologies of digital design, the demand analysis of the digital design platform of ESPCPS is carried on by use of the PDM technology, thus completing to construct the basic frame of the digital design system. The functions of the digital design platform of ESPCPS system are divided into three major parts: the management of existing product data, the management of product design process and the management of user information, thus establishing the basic frame of the digital design system platform of ESPCPS. The corresponding database is established, and the data management procedure is developed, thus carrying out the conformation of the digital design platform of ESPCPS. And the design and calculation procedure of progressing cavity pumping, coupling shaft and reducer are compiled, thus actualizing the management of the design process of ESPCPS. The process of running application is elaborated by used of a typical example.The digital design foundation platform established realizes to the management of interrelated data of ESPCPS, the design process of some main parts and the integration of system recourse, thus improving the design efficiency and reducing the product cost, which also settle the foundation of the digital design' further application in the design process of ESPCPS and the generalizing of ESPCPS.
