With the development of the electronic measuring technology, measuring technology is geared to automated, intelligent and network directions. Digital storage oscillograph (DSO) as the important measuring apparatus is widely used in various fields. But, with the development, it can't meet the need of modern manufacture more and more. As a result, handhold digital storage oscilloscope is studied.Handhold DSO is an important genre of digital storage oscilloscope ,it's outstanding feature include small form,use battery instead of AC supply for power, and include the whole function of DSO while implementing the basic function of multimeter.Handhold DSO can measure wave range automatic,analyze wave use cursor, measure resistance,diode and short circuit if choice digital multimeter .At present, the technology of handhold DSO is more advanced overseas, and occupies the great majority of market. so develop the technology of handhold DSO with ourselves patent have beautiful future。In this paper, we will discuss these correlative problems including the design of data acquiring system, a novel fashion of display with no control chip etc. The main attributions of the paper include:1. The design of data acquiring system. It is the key of the design of digital storage oscillograph. In this project, we adopt DSP+FPGA structure. For its great flexible and universal characteristic, we will design and develop a digital storage oscillograph based on this structure, which sampling frequency is 5 GSPS, bandwidth is 100 MHz.2. The design of control circuit of LCD. Microchip controlling mode is in conventional display fashion, which will need a display control chip and a microchip. In order to reduce cost as low as possible, we use another novel method, designing timing circuit for LCD by FPGA to control the display of LCD.
