The metal arch corrugated roof is a new style of structural system introduced into our country in the past years. Thanks to such outstanding advantages as saving the material input, constructing with high speed, spanning widely, good capability of waterproof etc., this structure possess a powerful competitive capability and shows an unparalleled development tend. But because of the serious posteriority of the scientific research, a unitized designing calculating method accepted universally has not been formed up to the present. Nor the technology regulations specialized for this structure. The project accidents appearing frequently at home and abroad has undoubtedly blocked the further popularization and extending of this structure.In this article, the theoretical analyses and experimental studies are combined to study the structural characteristics of metal arch corrugated roof. The theoretical analyses establish and predigest the computation model for structure mechanics analysis, according to the research conclusions of full size model test method, and establish the influence of the equivalent section considering corrugation. Limited finite element method for elastoplastic analysis of large deflection of plane beam elements is used to analyze theoretically the loading mechanism of structures.
