Energy efficiency is a focus of world concern. In China, household air-conditioner has become more and more popular. The number of household air-conditioner has been rapidly increased at amazing velocity. In that way, the requirement and consumption of the primary energy resources are aggravated, meanwhile, the pollution to the earth atmosphere from building energy consumption is going on aggravated. At the same time, with the living standard of people going up, the demand for domestic hot water supply becomes larger. So the energy consumption on hot water supply is significant. If the condenser heat could be recovered and reused for domestic hot water supply, the outdoor thermal environment can be improved and energy efficiency is enhanced. Air cooling mode for traditional household air-conditioner system is not good to refrigerant condensing and not good to outdoor environment, so the traditional household air-conditioning system should be modified, and the ultimate aim is to realize integrated system of building energy. Doing research on the correlative technology has great significance for the building energy system healthy and green developing.In this paper, according to the operational characteristics of household air-conditioning system, the viewpoint of condenser heat recovery and reuse is proposed, and the condenser heat discharged to the outdoor atmospheric environment is reduced, meanwhile, the condenser heat is used to heat the domestic hot water to meet the demand of hot water for the users. A new kind of household air conditioner with condenser heat recovery (HACCHR) system scheme is established, and on the basis of theoretical thermodynamic analysis (including the energy characteristics and exergy characteristics of system operation) to the system scheme, the corresponding experimental system is set up in our laboratory, and setting some measuring points of correlated parameters on the experimental system. Experimental system (including traditional air cooling mode and water cooling mode that condenser heat is recovered and reused by water cooling condenser for domestic hot water supply) operation and testing are studied in typical summer day in the paper. A large number of testing data of experiment operation are obtained and treated. The change laws of some main performance indexes of experiment operation with some main external parameters are obtained from the experimental data, and the corresponding empirical relations are established. The experiment diagrams that reflecting those change laws are drawn. The actual operational characteristics of the experiment system that obtained by experiment data is compared with the operational characteristics that obtained by theoretical analysis, and the deviation degree and deviation causes of them are found out.The result shows that the inherent performances of the household air-conditioning system is not obviously affected by water cooling mode that condenser heat is recovered and reused by water cooling condenser for domestic hot water supply and the condenser heat of air-conditioning system discharged to the outdoor atmospheric environment is greatly reduced(environmental protection characteristic), meanwhile, the requirement and consumption of the primary energy resources on heating domestic hot water is also decreased (energy conservation characteristic).The system total energy efficiency ratio (EERc + w , cooling + heat recovery by water) of the HACCHR system is greatly improved as long as the temperature of water in hot water storage tank is properly controlled. The aims of saving energy and protecting environment are well achieved. Integrated system of building energy and green technology are embodied. So its potential and prospect for further development of this system mode is great. It can be taken as a reference to the development of this new technique.
