Under Pro/E Environment Body Size Search Module's Research And Development

Ergonomics is the science of work: of the people who do it and the ways it is done, of the tools and equipment they use, the places they work in, and the psychosocial aspects of the working situation. The range of its research and application is very broad. In China, the beginning of ergonomics research maybe much later than foreign countries, but more and more Chinese people now begin to realize the ergonomics'importance along with the science and technology development. People become pay more attention to"Easy""Safety""Reliability""Efficiency".Body size is one of the important factors that need to be considered during design process. Although there are some advanced foreign software, which contains the native body measure data not including the Chinese people's measure data.This article just developed a Body Size Search Module to solve such problems. It set Pro/E as the development environment, Pro/Toolkit and Visual C++ as the program tools, and created the 3D Body Model with Top-to-down design method.There are three functions achieved by this module: First, search the body measure data with two different ways– exactly and inexactly; second, modify and update the data library; third, can provide designers emulational 3D Body model.With this module, designers can search the Chinese people's measure data much more convenience and efficiency, no matter when they design the product size or want to have a simple ergonomics analysis. With this Body Size Search Module, designers can make their productions much more fit human nature.
