With the implementing of electric power system innovation and development of power system information, it is becoming an extremely urgent duty to establish the power plant Supervisory Information System (SIS), and realize the power plant synthesis automation. Under this background and the study of the domestic and foreign supervisory information system, this paper has carried on the research, development and application of supervisory information system based on eDNA database.A contrast analysis was carried on database, and finally eDNA database was chosen as the database platform of the SIS system, which meets demand in all aspects and enjoys a high performances versus price ratio. In this paper, the structure and fuction of the power plant SIS system was designed, then the mathematical models of each function module for the thermoelectric power station were established and the theoretical basis of the power plant SIS system was laied out. The function modules included the entire factory production process monitoring, the load assigns and dispatches, the factory level and the unit performance computation, the unit economic indicator analysis, the optimized movement instruction and so on.The application of supervisory information system of China Resources Power (Changshu) Co.,Ltd. 3×650MW project in Jiangshu province had been realized. The eDNA database service configuration, SIS C/S client, B/S client and all function modules had also been accomplished. The SIS system of power plant have been commercially operated for one year, the operation results showed the remarkable economics in the plant data integration, performance computation, economy diagnosis, report function. Based on performance calculation and economic diagnostic functions, the size, distribution and places of energy-saving potential of steam power unit were found, and the coal consumption could be saved 9.94g·(kW·h)-1 by optimization operation. It provides a reliable basis for optimized movement and maintenance of station power unit.
