In this thesis, three constant angular velocity transmission theories of the universal joints are induced and summarized. The various products of the constant angular velocity universal joints are integrated, classified and analyzed. It provides the basis for the further research on the theory of the constant angular velocity universal joint.With the application of the mathematics tool—the direction cosine matrices, the kinematics theory analysis for the single tripod sliding universal joint has been performed. The conclusion is obtained that the single tripod sliding universal joint is a quasi-constant-angular-velocity universal joint, in the meantime, many function curves are plotted. On the basis of the kinematics analysis, complex dynamics analysis is carried out to the single tripod sliding universal joint by the "single force pair" method. Theory solution of the natural frequency of the single tripod sliding universal joint is performed. On the ground of the research of the spatial constant angular velocity linkage mechanism, complex calculation and deduction are performed to the RPSPR mechanism. Then, constant angular velocity analysis is obtained for the RPSPR mechanism with the tool of coordinates conversion and the D-H local coordinate system.With three-dimensional drawing software Pro/E and many-body dynamics software ADAMS, the kinematics simulation analysis is performed to the single tripod sliding universal joint and the twin tripod sliding universal joint. The dynamics simulation analysis is performed to the single tripod sliding universal joint. The validity of theory analysis of the part kinematics and dynamics of the single tripod sliding universal joint is verified by the analysis of the simulation results, at the same time, new characteristics are found to the single tripod sliding universal joint. With Pro/E and FEA(Finite Element Analysis)software ANSYS, the vibration analysis is performed for the single tripod sliding universal joint. The natural frequency of the system is derived, which provides the basis for the response analysis. On the basis of the RPSPR mechanism, a new-style constant angular velocity joint is derived. The parts model design and assembly are performed by Pro/E. By the simulation results analysis of constant angular velocity RPSPR mechanism, the constant angular velocity characteristic of the spatial mechanism is obtained further.By the analysis processes mentioned above, a new theory method that new schemes are integrated by the computer on the basis of the system integration theory and the best scheme is searched in the course of the integration comes into being. It provides theory and application guide for the research field of the constant angular velocity joints. The method can be applied for more analyses and design work.
