Universal joints is frequently used in automobile transmission system to achieve the power transmission between the shafts, which have intersecting axes and often change the relative position. Universal joint assembly is comprised of universal joint and transmission shaft, and the middle support, in some cases. In automotive transmission system, the universal joints is an important part, which directly affect the work of automotive transmission system, and affect the safety of motorists. So, it is very important to detect universal joints. The main parameters of universal joints need to be detected is fatigue strength, wear, lifetime, swinging angle and sliding displacement.Our laboratory project, the testing apparatus of cycle life of constant velocity universal joint for automobile, can test the relevant performance of constant velocity joints for automotive assembly, constant velocity joints and semi axis. The swinging angle detection of outside ball basket by using hydraulic drive system and sliding displacement detection of inside ball basket is indirectly achieved by detecting swinging angle and computus. Detection mode and detection mode has some areas for improvement. Therefore, the main content of this paper is how to detect these two performance parameters of universal joints based on the original test-bed.In this paper, to improve the original test-bed and design a new set of hydraulic rotary table system based on electro-hydraulic proportional control technology. Mathematical model of the electro-hydraulic proportional reversal valve is deduced. The system mathematical model is build. And then the simulation analysis of the system is made.This hydraulic system based on electro-hydraulic proportional control technology is mainly used electro-hydraulic proportional reversal valve as the control components, which makes full use of the electro-hydraulic proportional control technology. This paper analyzes the dynamic characteristics and inverting-braking process based on the mathematical model of the system. In this paper, the main problem in this paper is how to invert and brake quickly for that system. Rapid inverting must be involved to the stationarity, and the key of system stationarity is about the inverting-braking process. This paper discusses that progress. Secondly, measurement system is established through analyzing the mechanism of the inverting impulse, which are inverting reversal time and inverting impulsion. Thirdly, this paper analyzes and compares several braking control curve, and select an optimum control curve. This curve can make the rotary table invert smoothly without impulse.Finally, the new proposal on testing of the sliding displacement is proposed, which is adopting the vertical slipway vertical motion and mechanical slipway horizontal motion to detect the sliding displacement.
