This paper studied on the new automotive constant velocity universal joints drive shaft, which is made up of the tripod sliding universal coupling and the ball type coupling and the intermediate drive. The constant velocity universal joints drive shaft plays an important role in the automobile transmission system. And at present, the cars are becoming common in ordinary families, so the performance of the drive shaft will affect the performance of the car and the life safety of the owners. Therefore, this paper studied on theory and simulation of new automotive constant velocity universal joint drive shaft. It not only provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for the further research, optimization and test analysis of automotive constant velocity universal joint drive shaft. And it also has practical significance on the improvement of the safety of the car.This paper obtained the motion equation of the key components of the new automotive constant velocity universal joints drive shaft by using the direction cosine matrix and the coordinate transformation method. And using Matlab draw the motion law curve of the above motion equation. Then this paper build the 3D modeling of the constant velocity universal joints drive shaft by using Creo, and carried on the motion simulation analysis, and obtained the motion curve of the key components, which is consistent with the above theoretical result. It proved that the new automotive constant velocity universal joints drive shaft is a quasi constant velocity coupling.Using ANSYS Workbench carried on static analysis for the new automotive constant velocity universal joints drive shaft. Obtained the stress and deformation cloud image of key components, by analyzing find that the tripod and the groove shell are the most dangerous parts. Nevertheless the total deformation is not big, which can meet the use requirement. And the maximum stress value also could satisfy the yield criterion, which can meet the requirements of structural strength. It further illustrates the rationality of structure design.This paper analyzed vibration analysis of the new automotive constant velocity universal joints drive shaft based on the static analysis. Firstly, the analysis of mode is carried out on prestressed cases, and obtained the preceding 10-order natural frequencyand vibration mode. As a result, it was found that the groove shell and the bell-shaped shell and the intermediate shaft have the obvious deformation. Then, the analysis of Harmonic Response with prestressed is carried out on this three locations, obtained the response relationship of displacements with frequency, stresses with frequency, strains with frequency on this three locations, and calculated the critical frequency, then,obtained their diagram of displacements, stresses and strains under the critical frequency. This part examined the vibration characteristics of the new automotive constant velocity universal joints drive shaft comprehensively.
