It's one of the most important functions for distribution network automation to realize fault location, fault section isolation and service restoration in time when fault happens. It's significant to assure power supply reliability and improve service quality. A method of fault location in this dissertation is given after analyzing and researching carefully distribution network non-supervise area.Firstly, the characteristic of network model of distribution system and GIS data model is analyzed in this dissertation, meanwhile concrete distribution network with geometric network of GIS is provided. The function of network analysis includes source analysis, the range of power supply analysis, and the buffer analysis and switches operation simulation. Fault location and emergency repair create convenient conditions.Secondly, the method of fault location is on the basis of uncertain fault location reasoning and rough set theory decision-making result. Uncertain reasoning gives the method that distribution network is separated by line fault trouble calls and rough set decision-making table gives the result of fault location according to the location of transformers supplying the line which is trouble. The method is suitable to the city distribution network without advanced distribution automation and supervisory, then trouble call is, avoid the calculation of power flow, and shorten the time of fault location and isolation, which assure rules feasibility and justice. This article uses matches the electrical network customer service center the fault suit telephone carries on the localization to the fault, this speaking of lacks far moves the information matches the electrical network has extremely positive and the vital significance.
