With the increasing improvement of modern control theory and the continuous development of satellite communication technology, automotive satellite communications has been widely used in varieties of fields due to its characteristics of mobility and flexibility.The HTV-III automotive satellite TV antenna receiving system presented in theis paper is an automotive satellite antenna device exploited and developed with the combined effort of Wuhan Sinomass Science&Technology Co., Ltd. Vehicle-mounted satellite antenna controller uses atmel16L microprocessor as corn control device, and make full use of its powerful logic judgment and the abilities of computing and information processing, thereby promotes the automatic degree of the antenna controlling and reliability as well, so as to locate the satellite precisely and rapidly. This paper aims at trying to find out the overall design project of HTV-III automotive satellite TV antenna receiving system under outdoors harsh conditions, and coming up with the application scheme of fully automotive satellite antenna servo control system based on combined efforts of straightforward, practical, reliable mechanical system and modern sensing devices such as electronic compass, position sensors. This system possesses the functions of automatic storage, memory, and auto shifting satellite, it can memory and stores satellite locations as many as 10, and realize the project concretely.According to the antenna control and automatic control theory, focuses primarily on analyzing satellite antenna tracking and controlling methods, and designing the system from hardware and software aspects. Eventually it develops an satellite antenna automatic tracking and controlling system which can be used under harsh conditions, and goes through practical running testing. Now it has already put into operation in Dalian Digital Satellite Telecommunications Co., Ltd.The main contents of the paper include: the theory bases related to satellite antenna controlling system, the overall design of satellite control system, the hardware structure design and debugging of the satellite control system, the software design and overall performance tests of the satellite control system.The paper has finished tasks as followes: the independent designs of antenna's pitching and spinning; realizing the angle compensation when antenna locates the satellite in different parking positions; the hardware and software designs of the central controller, electronic compass, DC, rotary encoders and infrared remote sensor; the reliability and anti-jamming designs of system; real time display design of pitching angle and azimuth angle.
