The cooling system is engine's important component, to engine's power, the efficiency and the reliability has affects greatly. With the engine speed and power of the rising, cooling system requirements are getting higher and higher, and therefore the countries of the engine cooling system design and more and more in-depth study. Its leading role is controls the cooling water the size circulation, when the temperature is low, the thermostat closes, the cooling water carries on the minor cycle to favor the engine temperature to elevate rapidly; When the temperature surpasses 90℃, the thermostat opens, the cooling water carries on the big circulation to cause the engine temperature to reduce. In the cooling system, thermostat played a crucial role. Finally through the control the valve's aperture degree of the thermostat enables engine's temperature to achieve the dynamical equilibrium.This article first made the analysis to various common thermostats'operating principle and working performance and pointed out their main merits and demerits. On this basis, this article studied and designed the structure of the pneumatic thermostat. Then we carried on the detailed analysis to the feeling warm solution's selection process. In the commonly used organic solvent, first we designated that the boiling point in 35℃-75℃between solution, mainly has the ether, the acetone and the ethyl alcohol. Then developed the laboratory bench, determined the above three kind of alternative solutions between the saturated steam tension and the intensity of pressure relations, observed through the experiment, selected when the acetone solution took the feeling warm medium, the piston rises the displacement to meet the thermostat requirement. Through to empirical datum's fitting, obtained between the acetone solution saturated steam tension and the temperature functional relations, according to the Hooke's law, was considered as again has returned to the position spring's rigidity.Above this foundation, this article used ANSYS to the acetone solution establishment temperature field, thus obtained the acetone solution along with the temperature change response time law. Finally to inflated diaphragm's leak-proof quality to carry on the analysis, choose the appropriate seal diaphragm, and has estimated the acetone steam revelation time.This article is in summarizes above the domestic and foreign thermostat foundation, proposed the new air operated automobile thermostat, is to a thermostat innovative exploration.
