In the high-quality products and efficient production environment construction, measurement technology has played an increasing important role. Especially in the rapid development period of internationalization of production and global economic integration, the requirements for high-precision components production in different areas must have good interchange abilities and the requirements for processing error measurement must be better. Meanwhile, with the development of virtual manufacturing technology, product design, simulation, testing and evaluation of virtual environment have been widely applied. Under the background, this paper puts forward the virtual measurement method of the based on numerical control simulation system which becomes the third method of processing error measurement besides from abstract theory and physics experiments. It can be an effective complement to the other two measurement methods to reduce the cost of processing error measurement effectively.First, this paper discusses the development background of modern manufacturing industry and the formation and development of virtual manufacturing, introduces the sources of mechanical processing error, analysis method and research status in manufacturing industry.Second, this paper describes the design model of processing error virtual measurement system and tries to build mathematics model of virtual measurement method, analyzes the theoretical basis of geometry and graphics of the feasibility of measurement method, discusses the functions and principles of virtual measurement system module, such as establishment of simulation environment, implementation of simulation process, measurement and analysis of processing error and the like.Third, this paper analyzes error sources and research status of numerical control milling processing technology, builds the model of numerical control milling error virtual measurement system based on numerical control simulation system VERICUT, simulates the process of milling processing, measures and analyzes processing errors of numerical control process.Finally, this paper discusses the position, status and error sources of gear processing. For forming grinding wheel grinding processing gear hob in gear grinding technique, this paper transforms its grinding process into forming turning process, establishes virtual measurement system model as well as realizes the simulation of processing course, discusses and verifies functions of virtual measurement method furthermore by measuring and analyzing parameter analysis as well as its processing errors of simulation results.
