The engine's air throttle is closed when idle speed system starts work, the air get across sideward throttle and then enter combustion chamber firebox. The mass air flow rate through the sideward throttle valve was controlled by valve's open area, the idle speed system control valve work base on idle speed state (such as startup process, warm engine process, load increase add or decrease etc). The speed stabilization and reduction of exhaust gas are two importance target of idle speed control. Presently lots of idle speed control arithmetic were studied for control requirement, such as PID control, fuzzy control, expert control etc.To achieve better controlling, in the paper, the mechanics model about the linear electromagnetic valve was set up through studying it's structure and work principle, and through simulating work condition, the changing process about the mass air flow and the valve displacement was studied by using MATLAB software, then the relationship formula between valve displacement and the voltage that was main parameter controlled in arithmetic, and the formula between the mass air flow and the voltage was deduced, the relation between the mass air flow and engine power was set up, which are of important reference in designing closed loop or open loop control system.Based on the requirement of idle speed control and the characteristics of the linear electromagnetic valve, the matching design's method about the sort of idle speed control valve was established, and a sort of viable idle speed control arithmetic was put forward based on those methods mentioned.
