In recent years,the major automobile manufacturers in order to enhance their market share,launched a fierce price war.So automobile manufacturers must reduce costs to get more profit.As a primary supplier,the car seat manufacturers are suffering more and more cost pressures too.Manufacturing Execution System(MES)provides a new way for car seat manufacturers to reduce manufacturing costs.Based on the seven wastes of Lean manufacturing,the paper analyzes the problems in automobile seat manufacturing process,such as surplus production,waiting for materials,material error,data tracing difficulty,low efficiency and high accident rate.According to these problems,the Manufacturing Execution System is designed by automation,communication and information technology.Four subsystems are founded in the MES,including order receiving system,material pull system,production management system and delivery management system.The hardware and software architecture and database structure of MES was established by E-R analysis.According to the JIT requirements,combined with SQL Server database technology and HTTP protocol,the MES order receiving system was developed by C#.net language.Due to the material lack and material error,through process optimization,combined with SQL Server database technology and Kepware OPC Server,the MES material pulling system was developed by VB.net language.In the production process,the assembly error is serious,the defect rate is high and the data traceability is low.In order to solve these problems,MES production management system was established by VB.net language,through IPL command,ATLAS Open Protocol and the application of Serial Port and Socket in.Net Framework.Due to the problem of high error rate,low efficiency and low data traceability in the process of delivery,the delivery management module was designed to improve the issues.SQL Server and Office Excel Application controls are used in the development process.The application survey through a number of car seat plant after the system finished shows that the versatility of the system is good,and the customized development is limited.Through the actual data analysis of a project,production and logistics sector coordination capacity significantly improved,the time of production stop caused by lack of material reduced by 88%;The accident of the delivery almost did not happen again;Production speed increased by 20%,delivery speed increased by 50%;Solve the problem of data tracing,the product process is more transparent.MES has created great economic value for the enterprises.
