Sonar transmitter is a very important component in active sonar equipment and different transmitters of active sonar can be used in different active sonar system. The design of transmitter in release responder and underwater acoustic communication experiment is completed in this paper.According to the characteristics of sonar transmitter, based on the theory and practice, the key issues of the sonar transmitter designing process are given in this paper. The characteristics, designing demands as well as principles of choosing of power amplifier and power MOSFET, MOSET driver circuit are given in the paper. And the characteristics of transformer, heat treatment of power IC and the designing of transducer matching circuits are also included here. On this basis, according to the demands of release responder, D-type transmitter based on the PWM techniques is carried out in this paper. Some terrific points, such as small dimension, high efficiency and bis-modes(on & waiting) are composed in the designing work of the transmitter. To meet the demand of underwater acoustic communication experiment, the linearity transmitter is designed with the functions of adjustable input power and adjustable load impedance. And overload protection and over temperature protection are also included in the paper.After experimental testing, both the D-type transmitter and the linearity transmitter achieved the designing requirement and worked stably in their system experiments.
