The missile-borne computer is key installment of the modern missile guidance and the control system, its performance quality relates the precision of guidance and the probability of target damage directly. The characteristics of missile-borne computer are timeliness, reliability, and imbedibility. In recent years, the missile-borne computer system function becomes more and more complex.To the operating system, timeliness, stable, the precision request is more and higher ; using the real-time multi-duty operating system has already become the essential method in designing. The operating systems, like VxWorks,μC/OS-II, Linux, PSOS and so on, are used commonly. Here the selection is VxWorks through performance contrasting. VxWorks is a good real-time operating system which Wind River Corporation developed.Because of its strong timeliness, redundant reliability, good scalable performance and friendly integrated development environment—Tornado, VxWorks becomes one of most characterful real-time operating system. And it has been widely applied in the military, astronautics, the correspondence, the industry control and so on.At first this article is to contrast and to analyze the missile-borne computer design proposal. It is to build an embedded development platform based on Embest EDUKIT-III, and to develop the BSP which the missile-borne computer software needed based on the BSP given by Embest Corporation, and to give some analyses and improvements on optimizing performance.Second, according to the system request, it made the analysis and contrast between VxWorks and Linux and then to analyze the real-time performance of VxWorks emphatically. Meanwhile it analyzed the ARM architecture, then made optimization and balance of entire software system by focusing from the software and hardware.Thirdly, according to request of the system real-time performance and preamble analysis result, it is to propose some improvement of algorithm. And it is to design and complete some drivers of devices, and also software module of the missile-borne computer.Finally, the system passes the test of the real-time simulated experiment of Matlab/the RTW.
