| DC/DC converters are widely used in aerospace radiation environment as the development of micro-electronics technology and aerospace technology, its reliability and security issues in radiation environment become a research hotspot. By adding a condition monitoring module in the electric system, the reliability state of device can be monitored at work condition, and therefore it can be used to provide an advance warning of failure, to provide condition-based maintenance, and to help in risk reduction and reliability improvement. A prognostic cell is explored to improve the reliability of DC/DC converter in radiation environment application.SBD(Schottky barrier diode) usually used as output rectifier diodes in the DC/DC converter, radiation effects will lead to a degradation of SBD device performance, and thus will result in DC/DC converter failure. This paper focuses on the radiation effect of SBD, and researches the influence of degradation of SBD act on DC/DC converter. Base on SBD , the DC/DC converter radiation damage prediction model , from which the prognostic cell is manufactured, is developed. And the prognostic cell is supposed to give an early warning signal before the failure of DC/DC converter occurs, which is cause by SBD performance anomalies. The radiation experiments of SBD and DC/DC converter has been designed and completed, the experimental results verify the correctness of radiation damage micro-mechanism and prediction model, and the prediction model can well reflect the radiation damage of DC/DC converter.According to the analysis of the radiation-sensitive parameters and damage prediction model, utilizing prognostic cell method, the circuit and layout of DC/DC converter prognostic cell based on SBD for radiation damage prediction are designed. Taking into account the radiation environment of prognostic cell at work, a part of circuit is radiation-hardened designed at circuit level. The simulation results show that the designed cells satisfy the requirements. After the prognostic cell samples are successfully manufactured, the sample test and radiation experiments are operated, and the results show that the prognostic cell can achieve the predict function before failure, which fulfill our expectation. |
